Snell Isle is a subdivision on the eastern side of St. Petersburg and close to downtown, it is surrounded by the waters of Tampa Bay and known for its high-end waterfront homes, The St. Petersburg Woman's Club and the Vinoy Golf Club. The Vinoy Golf Club is located at 600 Snell Isle Boulevard. It was built by C. Perry Snell, a Kentucky druggist who moved to St. Petersburg in 1900. Mr. Snell is credit for the initial development of Snell Isle when he purchased large parcels of land in the area and developed the golf course and country club. Originally called the "Coffee Pot Golf Course" , it is now listed on the National Historic Register.
